This is the most famous temple in Bangkok. This temple was founded in 1784. King Rama the first ordered to build this temple in the palace. In the temple, there is a lot of wall art that tells the story of Ramayana which is Thai ancient literature. Aside from the wall art story, every inch of the temple is made by beautiful and neat art. Since this is a temple in the palace, every inch was made carefully and beautifully.
This temple is a very important place in Bangkok that if you come to Bangkok and don’t visit this temple. We can say that you didn’t arrive in Bangkok yet. The full name of this temple is Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan. This is also one of the most famous temples in Bangkok. This is an ancient temple which was founded since 1656CE. This temple was founded since the Ayutthaya period. Then during the time of King Taksin the great of Krung Thonburi, he ordered to build the palace and extend the area until covering up the area of this temple. Therefore, during that time this temple was the temple in the palace.
Normally pagodas in Thailand are made with golden color or plain white. But the pagoda of this temple has base color as white and decorated with colorful ceramic. This is very unique and beautiful.
The temple is right along the river bank. We can see the beautiful pagoda while we are on the boat in the Chao Praya river. This temple is one of the most background pictures of Bangkok city. If you come during the day time, the beautiful pagoda is so shining in the sun. You will be able to enjoy taking a whole lot of pictures in this temple. And if you pass by this temple during dawn or at night, you will see the pagoda is decorated with beautiful lights. It is amazing scenery.
For me, this temple the sign of religion that goes well along with the civilization of the capital city. While it is surrounded by the modern style of high buildings, this temple is elegantly stayed there and perfectly blended into the city. I went to this temple a few times already, and I think I won’t get bored going to this temple again and again.

Wat Pho or the official name is Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan. This is also a very famous temple in Bangkok. It was founded in the Ayhutaya period. This temple was taken good care by the kings of Thailand that is why since so long time ago until now, the temple still remains very beautiful.
This is one of the very important temples in Thailand. This temple is called as the first university in the country because there is a lot of inscription which stated a lot of branches of knowledge. In March of 2008 UNESCO registered this temple as the Asian Pacific’s Memory of the World Program. Then in June 2011, UNESCO registered all 1,440 pieces of the inscription as international Memory of the World Program.
This temple is well known as the temple of giant reclining Buddha. This Buddha was built in the period of King Rama the third. And this is the third biggest reclining Buddha in Thailand. If you come to this temple, do not forget to come to visit and blessing to this Buddha.
